Vase Vacation 2012 - WESTERN CANADA
The 2012 Vase vacation was our first wtih 2 kids - so we were kind of relieved to not have a long flight, or anywhere too foreign and exotic. Not that Canada's not incredible, but it was a bit easier to navigate than Siberia :) We flew up to Seattle, spent one morning their to give Chris his official first taste of the Pacific Northwest, and then took a ferry into British Columbia. We started in Victoria (such a charming, clean and beautiful town), took a float plane to Vancouver for 3 days (a-maz-ing...we had no idea what a gorgeous, perfect city it is), then flew up close in Alaska - Prince Rupert for a little less city and more wildlife, and then went east a bit to check out Alberta, landing in Calgary, and driving to Lake Louise and Banff. Completely beautiful, perfect weather, the kids were great, we saw all kinds of cool animals, and got to rest, play, have fun and goof off. And pick up new Cricket CDs - and of course our mandatory musical instrument for the international band (this one a bear bell).
